Mental health is necessary. Losing it, takes a heavy toll on human life, be it an individual, family or then societal level. Natural human resource is meant to realize it’s potential, experience it and express it /share to the world. When one misses one’s way in life, it’s essential to receive support, encouragement and restoration in life, in way that’s flexibly adaptable.
We, at Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health, Pashan, Pune, as a team of mental health professionals i.e. Psychiatric Social Service Superintendents (Psychiatric Social Workers), Psychiatric Nurses, Clinical Psychologists and Psychiatrists support the cause of preventive, promotive, curative, supportive, rehabilitative and palliative approaches in mental health care, for persons looking up to us, for mental health services.
We, being the apex, government institution, functioning under the Medical Education and Drugs Department, Government of Maharashtra, have our basic role in training human resources to take up responsibilities as future mental health professionals. Performing need-based research in the field of mental health assumes importance along with training in different professional courses.
